Design: Mario Cucinella
Filigree, radiant and full of poetry: for the Artemide design lamp Flexia, designer Mario Cucinella drew inspiration from the Japanese art of origami. Her flexible elements are reminiscent of a beautiful paper crane while the innovative lighting technology makes use of sustainable materials and cleverly integrated acoustic elements. The light-emitting component uses the highly regarded patented Edgelight technology, which only becomes visible when the light is switched on: internal LED strips flood the transparent acrylic glass interior and transform it into an emission surface. The resulting homogenous light offers optimum visual comfort and complies with UGR standards for glare-free screen work. At the same time, the lamp keeps noise levels to a minimum, as the shape, materials and density of the textile acoustic element are designed to absorb the frequencies of the human voice – ideal for offices, coworking spaces and the home office.
